These have the right weight and padding and is fairly well made. Some kick shields are way too hard causing pain on the instep unless you wear instep pads which should not be necessary. These have the right amount of give whilst still protecting the holder of the pad. It would have been better if the zip was on the bottom to stop it hitting the holder from when the pad slips up and impacts their chin as does sometimes happen. I found string fraying from the holding straps on a couple of the pads and had to snip them off, hopefully it doesn't get any worse.
I found this strike shield to be of great quality so far and would recommend it to any serious martial Artist or Self Defence Practitioner. It has got strong quality material and is worth the money which is quite affordable.
